Police Arrest Man For Stealing Bike At Knifepoint
MAR VISTA, Calif. (CBS) ―

A man suspected of stealing a bicycle and possessing a knife held Los Angeles police at bay for about 90 minutes in Mar Vista before surrendering Friday morning.

Christopher Serna, 26, of Los Angeles, allegedly took bike at knifepoint at a housing complex for UCLA graduate students in the 3300 block of Sawtelle Boulevard about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Police found the man holed up in a home in the 11000 block of Westminster Avenue, UCLA police Sgt. Scott Scheffler said.

University and Los Angeles police worked together to arrest Serna, who was taken into custody.

Serna was booked on suspicion of armed robbery and denied bail because of a parole hold, Scheffler said.
