Just wanted to give you the heads up that the 99 cent store on Sunset and.... ummm...near Western... has a bunch of red tail lights.
I bought one just to test it out and it has like 6 flash modes and clip (no bike mounting bracket).
It snaps together well enough for a buck. Unless all you punks buy them, I might grab a few more just to have on hand for friends.
Batteries not included. So its a $2 light with an extra battery. Maybe we can grab a few and hand them out to kids on rides who don't seem to have one. I don't know...
They also have toilet paper for a buck (4-pack). Oh, and you can get Tapatio there too....

This light is trash .. we have had a few floating around our house and they break really really easy ... save your lunch money and buy something else ..

just curious, did you test it out while riding?
i bought a couple at the 99 cent store @ 2nd and vermont. when riding the battery rattled so that the + side end was not making a connection. I then jerry riged it by putting strips of cardboard between the red plastic and the batteries to hold them in place. this worked pretty well but was a hastle.

But if you need one now as a quick replacement ... or don't have any ... buy it ...

sorry didn't ride with it.
I've bought lights for $10 + that didn't seem to be much of an improvement on this light. In fact, nearly all rear lights (outside of Superflash, Viewpoints version of the superflash) have fallen apart easily, etc.
If you guys think its crap, then I'll take your word for it. Adding a good explanation of its fault would be helpful, because bike lights are far too overpriced...especially for something so essential to riding safely.
Any qualms with the toilet paper?

Toilet Paper gets the job done .... The main thing is if you drop it ..its over... Also the clip and cover on the light breaks really easy...

when riding the battery rattled so that the + side end was not making a connection, therefore leaving you with no light on your tail when you probably think its on.
i also know i ended up using e-tape to hold the red plastic on. not sure if this was before or after i put the cardboard strips to hold the batteries in place or not.
the clip also broke fairly soon, but i dont recall how.
tp's great and will come in handy when you lather your tacos with the tapotillo.

$2 dollars is way better than getting stoped and harrased by l.a. cops and getting a ticket period.

I bought one of these over a year ago (yeah, it's the same one they have in stock now).
It's clipped to my bag as a secondary blinky. Still working fine.
I got my money's worth a long time ago and it's still flashing.
