From Craigslist in santa Barbara...Why is this person so tweaked?


I'm gonna make it my personal goal to get a law passed banning fixed gear (fixie) bikes in Santa Barbara. What dummy decided that a bike with no brakes would be a good idea? You cant stop pedaling as long as the bike is in motion and you have to pedal through corners which could result in the pedal hitting the pavement and hurling the rider in front of a car. What idiot would WANT to ride one of these death traps? I will be starting a petition and once this 'law' town realizes the dangerous nature of these ridiculous bikes, I guarantee you there will be a new law. You're welcome in advance.

 the fixie fad exploded in the college student town of isla vista around speing of 2007. riders use them primarily to get to class or down the main drag to get a coffee and be seen.

this is hardly a new development or a risk to public safety.
