Wine and cheese?
Done and done this Tuesday evening at Flying Pigeon LA on May 11, 2010:
http://flyingpigeon-la.com/2010/05/cargo-bike-date-night-ride-on-tuesday-may-11-2010/
More details:
Meet us at the Flying Pigeon LA bike shop (located at 3714 N. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90065) on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 6 p.m. for a taste of wine and cheese. After the meet-up and wine tasting at the shop, we’ll hit the road around 7 p.m. and arrive at Good Girl Dinette (located at 110 North Ave 56, Los Angeles, CA 90065) around 7:30 p.m. – where a prix fixe vegetarian meal will be served family style ($20 per person for the dinner).
After our meal, it’s a just a quick return ride back to the Flying Pigeon LA shop to the bike, train, bus, or car you arrived on.
A perfect ride for a date, a perfect ride to sample our small library of the world’s best cargo bikes, and a perfectly good excuse to enjoy an otherwise quotidian Tuesday evening.

This ride sounds like fun, but honestly I can't afford to pay 20.00 for a meal, I never pay that much when I go out.
I checked the menu and I don't understand why I can't just order for myself off the menu and get some curry for 6.00 bucks.

I write a wine blog and sell wine for a living...lemme know if you'd ever like a wine guy to help do the tastings.

It's a whole dinner thing with different dishes and other stuff.
You can, of course, get a curry pot pie. You can go by yourself any time of the day also!
But we're all going together, having a bit of fun, and getting some special treatment from the people that run the Dinette.

I can't afford special treatment! LOL
But, if I can go on the ride and order a la carte from the menu and pay separately from the group to keep my meal uner $10.00 then I can go. :)

LOL!
Honestly, I don't know of many MR that could afford $20.00 for a meal so I don't feel too bad. Hehehe!

Hey, you know, got to keep the riff raff out somehow right? Just kidding. I don't know if we'll be able to work everyone ordering food off the menu since there will be a nice little group that shows up and the kitchen will be hustling to make everything come together right on time. But forget about the cost of the meal and think of the evening - it's going to be a fun one. $20 ain't much for a fun evening, but if you can't afford it, there will be more Date Nigh rides from the Flying Pigeon LA shop from now on.

This ride sound awesome, but it may not be for everyone.
This isn't the average $0 group ride, it's a date ride somewhere nice, which means you should probably have a date and $20/person for delicious food.
If not, well, look to your left for a world of other options.
Way to go ubrayj02, we need more vegan themed rides.

Damn, that was an awesome meal. Good Girl Dinette brought out like a seven course dinner. You don't need roofies, just keep eating. The ride back was all downhill, so no chance to burn of all the food. Oh I feel so good.
We're definitely doing this type of ride again.
