Guys this is a long shot, but does anyone know any rides in tucson that happen on thursdays or fridays?
I need it. I am shopping for an apartment and its stressing me the fuck out. I wish i had brought my bike, but sigh, no avail.
Then i remembered BICAS the bike cooperative in tucson, so i ran down there 6 minutes before it closed and rented a beach cruiser(first timer on the BC) for 3 days for only 15 bucks. came with a swag helmet. just add a beer and the beach cruiser turns into a desert cruiser, right?
now here is the question
wat do? I am here tonight, tomorrow night, and saturday... day.
If theres no rides... two bars struck my notice while i was running around "The Surly Wench" and "The Shanty Cafe"
Im pretty stoked to ride tucson... im pretty stoked to officially move here too. hopefully theres some night rides.

Well, you already completed step 1 by hitting up the coop. Hang around there for a bit during regular hours and I'm quite sure you'll catch wind of something going down.
The way I see it, anywhere there's a bike co-op or anything of that nature, there's bound to be some MRish activity.
As for why this thread went unanswered for awhile, there's that collective animosity between AZ and CA that's gotten quite ugly over the past year or so.
But we'll leave that for city-data.org.

I run a site in Tucson called TucsonVelo.com and saw your post.
The main night bike ride is on Tuesdays at 8:30 that leaves from the University.
Other than that, there isn't any other major night ride. Groups of friends will ride of course, but nothing organized.
I'd be happy to show give you some route and things to check out if you like.

Isn't it in Tucson where police officers are suing the state to overturn SB 1070?

I believe so.
The sheriff of Pima County is the exact polar opposite of Arpaio when it comes to this issue.
Staying on point, an educational hotbed like Tuscon should be relatively easy to get on board.
