This is my submission for the Youtube film contest, "Life in a day". They say music is not allowed and they just want raw footage of something interesting from your daily life. What the hell, it's worth a try! I crack up every time at the guy's comment at the very end!
Yeah, I was a little unsure of the rules, and yes, most of the clips were shot before 7/24/10.
**So with less than an hour of sunlight left on the contest day, 7/24/10, I threw on my protective gear and went to my backyard, where I have my mini-trials course. I set up my HD camera, and shot fresh footage of me jumping down my 9 stair set on my 24" mountain unicycle!
I've done this before but with MUCH lighter unis that were easy to get air with. This 24" MUni is one of my heaviest unis and is very beefy and strong, but like a friggin tank, lol!. I
Here's that video: (you'll notice that my landing had to be ultra-precise! I had to stop my roll out almost immediately since a tree was in my direct path! Not easy to do coming in hot from so high and with so much forward momentum! )
Hmm, the video seems to be off-center, but only on this forum, not the actual video. You can always view it directly on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9p84e6aRW50
I don't really know exactly. I go by "feel". The tire(s) need to have enough psi so as not to bottom out on the rim during impact from a drop, and have enough cushion to absorb shock and "compression" for jumping up. And yet not too much psi, or it feels like a brick and you can't hop since there's almost no compression.
Some fellow cyclists say they use approx. 1lb psi for every 10 pounds of body weight. It really depends on the type of tire you have, and what type of rising you are doing. For long distance riding, I use more psi for less rolling resistance.
