Cyclist Hit on Western

Seen above at Virginia and Western, a cyclist was injured after being hit by a car. LAFD personnel prepare to bring him to the hostpial. One block away, a man was shot and killed while driving his car. Officers who responded were also hit by a car. All photos in this post are of the bicycle incident

A driver was shot dead. Minutes before the cyclist got hit. Two cops here hit by cars while attending the scene. Crazy stuff, man.

Crashes were not hit and runs. More info on cyclist is coming up.

That strip of Western to the north and south of the 101 freeway entrances always sucks--it's backed up for blocks with car traffic and constant lane shuffling, which, coupled with lots of peds crossing the streets and cyclists going through the area, makes for a volatile mix.

It looks like someone got some pictures, but if anyone else saw anything, has any other pix, or any further information, please put it out there. The cyclist could use it--so could his future attorney in evaluating the case. LAPD may not have timely responded or had the resources to do a proper investigation, so be your brothers'/sisters' eyes on the ground.

Any idea what hospital?

the dude that got shot was a friend of mine from high school :(

one of the pedestrians rolled up to his car and shot him point blank...

I didnt know that a cyclist was hit because of that though
