Come join us for the Bicykillers Century #1
July 1st at 9pm NOHO METRO STATION
We will leave at 9:15
Check the ride description for the route details, but it's gonna be epic! If you've always wanted to do a century, now's your chance. There will be plenty of regroup stops, and a lot of us are mechanically inclined to help with any issues that may come up.
I hope to see a good group for ouf first century. Then plan is to have fun ride where we can stay together and not drop half the group in the first 10 miles.
got it, nevermind. it works. my gay ass mouse doesn't know how to copy correctly.
fuck fuck FUCK! I hope i don't get dropped in some fucking spooky ass canyon. coyotes and mountain lions. fuckin' stupid ass kids smokin weed in the back of their trucks, bein all intimidating and shit.
Recomended ride fuel:
Mcdonalds, jack in the box, in&out, or
1 large peperoni pizza with extra cheese three hours prior
1 six pack of coke or pepsi during the day
10 large bong loads of the kind one half hour prior.
1 large pipe load or spleaf mid ride.
1 large red bull mid ride.
I am a bit tired from last night. I came in at 63 miles and I dropped my bike down a flight of stairs trying to get in the door. The bike seems ok, hope I am too.
I can't get the creak sound in my bb to go away :( So if you hear the sound of two old people having sex comin' up behind you tonight, it's not craig and ilya, it's my bottom bracket.
Something like that..all the parts look okay..gonna clean it tonight and see for sure. It fell evenly and I caught it before it flew all the way down, but still..its all plastic

Could be the b.b. itself creaking or the pedal shafts creaking in the crank.
Try pedaling with one leg under load to see if it creaks on both sides of the crank.
remedy: anti seize compound
Hustling home from work to get to NoHo on time, slow for a changing light, go to mash the pedals when the light changes...there's a pulling sensation in my right knee. Fucking pain. Lucky, I didn't fall (for once). Limped the rest of the way back home mostly under the power of my left leg. Can't bend my right leg past 45 degrees without feeling like someone's drilling through my kneecap.
I am so very fucking pissed right now, at missing what will be a kick-ass century, at my fucking knee for pulling this shit, and for myself not going into the doctor after I crashed. I thought I was back after riding last night without any pain.
Awesome ride, Awesome route...To those who finished there first century....Nice Job.
Unfortunately we had one small mishap. the kid that was rolling with us blew out his knee. I partly blame myself because I knew on PCH that he was done when I was trying to pull him back into the group. When I saw him come onto Sepulveda I couldn't bring myself to watch him go over that hill. Even I didn't wanna go over that hill and my legs were fine. So I nudged him to head back to wilshire with me and we got on the bus and headed to K-town. I was officially at 101 at the point we boarded the bus.
I'm bad with names so those who remember his name, please give him a shout out. He finished his first century but may not be riding for awhile. To those of you who finished, nice job.
Thanks for a great ride everybody - had two coyotes cross my path (one at Ventura and Beverly Glen!) and the ocean was stunning by moonlight. The high-speed descents in the middle of the night were thrilling, especially without a single car on the road.
Here's my version of the ride (note the copious "bonus miles" when I got myself lost): http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/ca/-los-angeles/732127811140619902
~120 miles in 8 hours, 5 minutes total time, which is great for me, but trying to stick with the "A" group was pretty humbling :-)
Great Route Craig. It was a fun ride. We stopped for a while before the big downhill, but you guys must have been far back. Our group was only 3 people, 2 of which had to be at work as early as 6am. They needed to keep going. Lee and I stopped at Twains and waited to see if anyone would roll up. I dont remember the last time I had a chocolate shake for breakfast. Thanks for planning a great ride.
i dont know if you guys still consider me a bicykiller (though i still rep the sticker and the shirt everywhere) but yeah my knee went out to after wednesday night races. thats like 4 knees bro!
hey whoever gave me their tail light email me your address
will ship or else give back at next silverlake ride. Great ride
Ryan, I miss the dam turn chautaque, end up santa monica pier.
Had a great breakfast at Norms though. Sorry Wayne, Ryan and I
were planning to wait for you guys at channel route.
I was one of the unlucky that had to go into work today at 6 am... Damn was i tired. i got 1 hour sleep and all my co-workers were incredulous. It came to about 114 miles. My boss took pity on me and let me sleep and hour or so because he said i looked like i was on drugs. Epic route Craig, i never imagined i could ride on over to Oxnard like that.
That's the best century you could of hope for, imagine doing 100 in heat.
Craig it would be awesome if we can use this route for a daytime ride, if
anyone can make it happen..you're the man. By the way anyone notice the
shimmering seashore...they're grunions..makes good eaten

I can't seem to find where to find those electric motors that fit inside the seatpost.
Did you get yours directlyfrom the manufacture?
or did you get it secondhand from Cancellra ?
Do they only fit in Specialized framesets ?
How long is the battery life ?
I sure could use one of these as it's getting more difficult to keep pace.
