Damn, another Gost Bike

LONG BEACH â€“ A 58-year-old La Palma bicyclist died Saturday after being struck by a pickup truck, police said.

The man, whose name has not been released, was riding a bicycle west on Carson Street in Long Beach about 11:50 p.m. Friday when a truck traveling in the same direction collided with him. The crash occurred just east of Woodruff Avenue, near Heartwell Park and the Carwood Shopping Center.

The driver, identified as a 70-year-old man in a 2010 Ford F150, was questioned at the scene and "released pending further investigation," Long Beach police said.

The bicyclist was transported to a hospital, where he died Saturday. His name had not been released as of Sunday night, pending notification of his next of kin.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Long Beach Police Det. Sirilo Garcia at 562-570-7355.

I have a bike all set to be painted.
A Ghost Bike will be installed within the week.
