R.I.P. JOSEPH "JOEY" GLOSSAN

3 GRAND Ave. Brunches ago I helped Joey get home safely. Joey was too drunk to make it safely home on his bike. So after a long and hard struggle, Branden and my Friend Joe "Scooter" Teal helped me get Joey on the Redline homeward bound. Joey lived in Sta. Monica and Fairfax and we got off the train at Hollywood & Highland and while exiting the metro station Joey reared his bike and at the escalotors and punctured his tire with the ragged edges of an escalator step and I had a big relief when that happened coz after we got out his only choice then was to walk home. He was a lil more grateful of my kind actions then and he walked home. after that night, a few days later Joey e-mailed me on myspace telling me how greatful he was for taking care him that night and for helping him get home safely. That was a great thing to hear from him. I took some funny pictures of Joey that night as he was kinda making a drunken ass out of himself and lshared them with him at a later time when i ran into him at DTLA when i was visiting my messenger friends. I was shocked to have heard the sad news of his recent death today while visiting Orange20. I am deeply saddened and mourning our dear friend. I and all of us who knew you will miss dearly Joey. Rest In piece my brother, bike you ass off in heaven my friend.
There's a memorial ride for JOEY this saturday night at ECHO PARK LAKE at 1900 hours. Come out and say goodbye to a great friend and member of our community.

I was freaked when my good friend Ashira called me and told me the news. I have been somewhat close to Joey ever since messengering together in downtown. And, even after I left DTLA we Kept in touch. This seems so out of left field! I JUST saw him at the Blade Runner race meeting maybe a month ago. We smoked outside and talked, things seemed to be on the up and up for him. What happened? Does anyone know? I called his phone last night because I wanted to be sure this wasn't some rumor or sick joke.
I guess not...
I hope someone can shed some light on this for me, It cuts me to the core.

Thanks for sharing those pics with me earlier gopez, it definitely made me remember joey the way that he would want to be remembered.

who's this Brendan? sure thing man. That was a stressful night but a memorable and fun one all in one. I will miss that guy.

the last time i saw him was with liz, meghan, and johannah outside the arclight. he had just gotten done buying some cds at amoeba. we talked about the murder city devils.

yeah, that was the second time i met him. the first was at the ALC bike wash at the bike oven... he was a really friendly guy. i'm really upset to hear about this. ride in peace dude.

What saddens me and fills my eyes with tears right now is that in the last 2 recent weeks he's been in my thoughts and was mentioned to me by a high school student whom was doing a high school research project involving a survey for l.a. cyclists. She told me he mentioned me as a good resource for her survey. I then posted a comment on Joey's myspace page about that, telling him i helped his lil' friend out with her school project. I then was thinking about joey a lot up until a couple of days ago. The regret and guilt is kiilling me right now; that i had him in my thoughts and i didn't call him. I wish i could have had some comforting words for our friend If I had called and noticed he was down. I regret not calling Joey so much and I just teared about this regret and this loss as i type this comment. Next time you or anyone is in my thoughts i will not prolongue the phone call, i will not procrastinate. I will call to say what's up and see how you are doing. REST IN PEACE JOEY. We will miss you man.
I'll be at the ride Saturday and I'll make a late appearance at the ALC photography exhibit.

IT IS TRULY AMAZING HOW SOMEONE WHO CAN REALLY JUST BE "ONE OF THE FELLAS" INSPIRE A RIDE AND SAD FEELINGS, ITS ALWAYS HARD FOR ME TO ADJUST TO THE FACT THAT WE ALL ARE JUST HERE "FOR A MOMENT" I WILL TRY TO BE MORE "GENTLE" TO THE PEOPLE AROUND ME, IT ALWAYS FEEL LIKE I WISH I COULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING MORE THAN WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT, (AT THIS MOMENT I CANT REMEMBER WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT), AS USUAL I WAS DRINKING AND SMOKING, IT WAS NICE OF HIM TO "REACH OUT" TO ME (AND THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET), I ALSO WISH I COULD HAVE SAID MORE.
