Highland Park assholes shooting, hitting up, cyclists

Hey everyone, I just got the down low on some stupid bastards that moved into the neigborhood adjacent the Bike Oven.
They've seen fit to shoot at several cyclists with their pellet guns and hit one of the long-time Oven volunteers tonight.
They hit up another neighborhood rida, asking him where he was from.
This lame ass crew is related to Highland Park (even though they are now hanging out and doing stupid shit in a massive Avenues area).
Don't know what to say other than watch your ass around the Heritage Square train station for the next couple of days while we all figure out a way to handle this.
They are coming from the house with the white picket fence on the corner of French and Marmion Way. No idea who among them is attracting their homies from Highland Park but we'll find a good non violent solution to this problem.
Any ideas? Helpful suggestions?

Make sure you bring enough zip-ties for their "one-banana/whole bunch" policy.
Sounds just like the wannabe gangs of thugalitos and peckerwoods that like to roam around the desert cities up here and start shit with whomever.
Then you raise a fist and they want a 20-on-1.

I was thinking of the 4chan route, but maybe darts is the way to go.
I think what we will end up doing is calling the cops about absolutely everything and making damn sure that they can't throw so much as a dirty look at the neighbors without their parole officer hearing about it.

Get to know your Senior Lead Officer (SLO). Every neighborhood has one and this officer acts as a liaison to the community. These folks are usually on the ball and will communicate via e-mail, cell, text whatever. Also get to know the local gang officers too. Develop a rapport w. the individual officers so you can follow up on the problem.
The thing with jokers like these is that they are tied to a neighborhood, so they can't get very far. Odds are, the police already know who they are.

Krumer is your man. He can point you in the direction of the right person to handle it. He's our intermediary. If you tell him where this happened, he will know exactly who to talk to.
As he has pointed out in the past, try to get as much detail as possible, addresses, license plates, photos, videos, physical descriptions, times, compass directions etc.

if it's known which house it is, why haven't the cops been called yet? especially since this hasn't been a single incident.

The cops have been called, but only for one incident. The rest of the stuff was reported to me from those that were shot at with a pellet gun, hit up, or saw someone getting robbed by this groups of assholes in the past few days.

That sucks. A couple folks got hit with pellet guns at Wade Park on the Westside a couple of months back.
+1 on calling the police / letting Sgt Krumer know.
Also, I'm kind of a big fan of these for riding. Wraparound clear high-impact resistant safety glasses.
http://industrialsavings.com/hard-hats/PY-S2510ST.html
Just the thing to keep bugs / dust / sand out of your eyes when riding, and they'd offer a fair bit of protection against pellet guns as well. (High Impact lenses must pass “high velocity” testing where 1/4" steel balls are “shot” at 150ft per second.)
At less than $2.50/pair, it's not a bad deal.

I live on ave 50, which is about 2miles from bike oven. I was gonna go and get my bike fixed, but now that I've heard this, i might not go until things have settled down. And as for the neighborhood, its kinda sketchy, esp with the wannabe avenue gangs around here.
I never go out in night for a walk because its soo dangerous. Only time i walk out is when i get tacos which is down the street near the liquor store.
I guess its budget pro bicycles or bike doctor (hate that shop) because those are the only stores that are open in the evening.

ive had bottles, cans, and trash thrown at me, but a pellet gun is just the beggining. first off let me tell you, dont take matters into your own hands, ive been around gangs my whole life and one thing i know is that when you do something to them, they will look for you and god forbid kill you. its not a joke. sometimes you might think they are just a bunch of wannabe gangsters or taggers, but those are the ones that do the craziest shit. especially if they are affiliated with highland park or worse avenues. trust me when i tell you this, move the oven to another safer location. it seems drastic but i know from experience. i go there alot too but now that i hear this, ill keep my distance. good luck to all and be safe out there

The Captains for Northeast are:

Do you actually want these a-holes to be caught? Then call 9-1-1 immediately next time something like this goes down. That way the police can get there while the suspects are still on the scene and the evidence is right there.
Not everyone in LA has their own personal Sgt. Krumer to hold their hand for them. Start acting like adults.

I don't think you understand what is going on here. We're not anonymous random white kids walking down the street in the bare-ee-oh.
The people that run the Oven are around all the time. We've helped lots of people and know many of our neighbors, if not by name then at least know their bikes.
If you rat someone out around here, it can have some really bad consequences.
There is a nonviolent way to get these guys to stop shooting their pellet guns at people, doing small time assault and robbery. I'm confident that we can get this done, or annoy these guys into leaving the area.

Sorry didn't finish that thought:
... but I'm not going to go knock on their door, show up with bats and a posse, etc. to "solve" this myself.
The police have a monopoly on these sorts of situations. We are a nation of laws. This is why they're here. Assault, robbery - is that a waste of time for the police?

I don't want to see this escalate. I think Ubrayj02 needs some rational advice. My hunch is to get an understanding neighborhood peer who has some connection with these guys to try to make or suggest some truce. To ask them to "lay off" on the whole block. It may be safer than being considered people who rat people out to police in the eyes of other Aves related individuals.
This shit is really upsetting.

Dude, if he wants to be non violent let him be non violent. On the other hand you and me would be cracking their heads lol. Non violent is rarely possible with gangs, or gang affiliations. The majority of the time when they choose to try and provoke something, the only time they are going to be non violent is when they don't have the guns and there are a lot more of us than them. Trust me on this one, having been stabbed, shot at and generally fucked with by gang members, or people trying to act all "thug" or whatever, non violence is the tactic you have to take, it's just being smart. I hate having to back down more than anything, but sometimes you have to fight smart and just not fight.
Sarge
P.S.
If you're going to call the police on them, don't tell them that you are going to call the police, cause then they are either going to book it or they are gonna come fuck you up for calling the cops, don't let them see you on the phone and wait for the cops if you want to and think you can safely. Enjoy your revenge by riding away free and they are in cuffs.

Also very aware of how the gang community responds to violent threats, words, or actions...they love that shet!!! Its exactly what they are trying to provoke. I recommend the whole truse suggestion with someone who is affiliated and is respected on both ends.. If that fails..then we should have a group ride in which we play chill music cruise through their streets and pass out bud brownies!! =D LOL PEACE FOR ALL!!!!

You may also want to contact ICE, as some of these criminals are most likely
illegal aliens. Also contact the L.A. housing authority, as most likely they are renting
this house. The Landlord will be held accountable as well for creating a nusance.

"Kids having kids" applies to any ethnic background.
When the parents are too young and immature to properly raise and discipline their children, the rest of us have to deal with the end-result either directly or in-directly.
Like I tell the younger ones, family and all that corny love shit can wait.
