Sorry if this has been already been addressed, but I'm curious:
Sgt. Krumer are you on the clock when you're reading and posting here?
Is there an interwebz detail?
reply
I am usually off the clock when posting here. My primary function is completely unrelated to bikes...its an ancillary duty...but I do it becuase its something I care about.

There are LAPD officers who are paid to surf the net for hours each day. They are called "vice". They troll sites like Craigslist to protect us from call girls.

Sgt. Krumer,
Why not do a ride with us in your civilian capacity? That would give you great insight into seeing the scenario from both sides.

I saw this guy for the first time last night, not who I expected.

I didn't recognize him without the uniform/gear on.
{gasp} He is a regular person!

As some of the other posters noted...I rode with you last night. Off-duty, civilian clothes, on my personal bike. I did so for exactly what you mentioned...to see things from your perspective.

That's really cool that you came out as a civilian. Hope you found the ride enjoyable.

The ride itself was great...but, as I am sure you can imagine, its what goes down at the stops that are an issue.
