So on my daily ride to work, which i love, i almost got hit by a motorist. i was at the intersection of Bundy and Olympic crossing at a green light + walk sign. a motorist made a left turn and almost ran me over. i fell of my bike trying to avoid the car. the most troubling part about this is there was a black and white on the adjacent side of the street that saw the whole thing. it was also right at the light. what the hell is going on? i'm really starting to think cops don't care about people on bikes.
yeah rant over. something needs to be done.
on a brighter note. you may get a laugh at this:

Sorry to hear. Glad you're okay. You could think about submitting the incident to the Bikeside LA map. Otherwise this stuff just gets buried in the threads. Hope your commute home is less eventful.

Submitting to the bikeside map is always a good idea to help with data collection, but first and foremost things need to be reported to the police. Most city planning is based on the data they get from police reports, and if no one reports anything to the police, than on paper everything seems fine out there, and of course we know it isn't. Sometimes police will drag their heels when it comes to reporting incidents involving a cyclist, but if we don't try, than of course nothing gets done. Rights don't exist if we don't exercise them, it's just words on a paper if no one acts on them.

Yup, put it up on the map, gotta record these incidents if we're ever going to expect to hold motorists accountable.

WOW!
that car looks strikingly similar to a car involved in harrassing myself and another rida who were riding silverlake blvd about 2 years ago. I caught the plate on camera:

I think there's a thread in here somewhere with more info.
