My friend had serious accident on Santa Monica blvd last week. Police came ambulance took him away. His nearly new Masi Caffè Racer Dopio disappeared.
Many calls to all authorities got runaround and no info on what happened to bike.
Anyone have any experience with getting a bike back from the cops?
Anyone see this bike around. Gray 56cm with a rear rack
WEAR A HELMET!!!
my friend has a hole in his skull where a helmet should have been

Check the hospital. Most of the time the bike will be brought to the ER with him. If the bike is not totally trashed security might have it.

For some reason it's a big deal for the cops or the fire department to take custody of the bike after a collision that requires a trip to the hospital. You could also try the fire department... Sometimes they take the bike.

+1 on the Fire Dept. That's where my bike went while I went to the ER...

If your friend has not located his bike have him shoot me an email and I will try and help him out. 35128@lapd.lacity.org

Hello Mr. Easy,
I suggest you trace back the reports made by the emergency crew and the police. Between those two reports, there should be a reference to your friend's bike. You can email me if you need any more information.

Bike recovered at Cedars Sinai ER after ER flatly insisted over the phone that they did not have it.
Thanks everybody!
Ride safe

Glad to hear it, and thanks for the update.
But it sounds like you should be issuing an apology or a correction to the title of your incendiary thread that suggested an LAPD theft of a bike.
