What is CATURDAY? I find more and more I am asked that question these days, and now, after many months of collaboration with KNITTENS, Yoda, and Emmi, and frequent relations with P-HULK, I find myself qualified to answer that question.
CATURDAY is joyous and uplifting holiday for Earth's, and indeed the Universe's, population of LOLCATS. LOLCATS everywhere eagerly anticipate the arrival of CATURDAY:
When CATURDAY comes LOLCATS take the day off from taking the day off from taking the day off. CATURDAY becomes then a endless bonanza of LOLSOME shenanigans:
As with all things LOLSOME, CATURDAY sometimes has adverse consequences for it's more enthusiastic participants:
In the old days, CATURDAY was construed to fall only on the hooman day of Saturday. However, in their ever flexible, irreverent way, LOLCATS have liberalized the interpretation of CATURDAY. Today, CATURDAY can occur at anytime, and is more associated with a spirit and attitude toward life, than it is with a particular day of the week.
Two questions of particular pertinence the Midnight Ridazz experience of CATURDAY:
What does CATURDAY WARRIORS have to do with CATURDAY?
CATURDAY WARRIORS is a ride organized by Junu (aka iJunes aka +5 seconds) primarily to train for road racing. It is associated to CATURDAY because it takes place on Saturday, and because it's participants claim to espouse the ideals of CATURDAY. Some prominent Westsidazz have questioned whether the warriors might be too serious for CATURDAY, and argued that CATURDAY WARRIORS suck. However, this may be a clever ploy to irritate the participants so that they participate in Grudge races, and also just in the nature of some Westsidazz to talk shit.
What does the ROBOTZ Ride have to do with CATURDAY?
ROBOTZ ride takes place on Saturday, a day particularly condusive to conditions leading to CATURDAY. It is also well known the robotz are natural allies of LOLCATS, and celebrate CATURDAYS, when they logically deduce it's existence, with mechanical exhuberance. Therefore, ROBOTZ is generally construed to take place on CATURDAY.
So which one is CATURDAY?
Neither - CATURDAY is not a ride. There is no CATURDAY ride. Rides can take place on CATURDAY, but they cannot be CATURDAY. See above, or follow these links to get more of a sense for the nature of CATURDAY:
