So, I've written something new. Strictly speaking, it isn't really about bikes or rides - though I did get the inspiration while riding through the 3rd Street tunnel on rayrayray's excellent Medical Ride.



And the whole thing came together last night - first during Monday Night Rehab, as we sat on the golf course waiting for the meteor shower that didn't quite materialize, and later on the ride back home alone.



...So, like I said before, feel free to ignore this thread but, if you decide to follow the link below, I hope you enjoy it.

It got more surreal (and darker) than the original Medical Ride inspiration, but that can't be helped, as it took on a life of it's own.

Ha ha, no there wasn't any pipe involved.

When I wrote this, I wasn't really thinking about anything apocalyptic.I was thinking about those very personal, private moments that each of us is destined to have where we come face to face with our mortality. Whether it's a second before a front-end impact, or a last dying breath, or just something that happens that forces us to face the idea that our existence is finite. Anyway, definitely more personal than an apocalypse.

I agree, EddieBoy, Fixed Gear Gallery is pretty cool. I've seen submission there from all over the world.It seems like anywhere there are bikes worldwide, someone is customizing, fixing, and otherwise pimping out road bikes of all kinds. It is amazing how creative some people are. It's also amazing how far flung this is.
