I'm a little dissapointed that I couldnt go. I feel like I'm missing the best ride. And as if I'm the only one who's not there.

Go the extra, 100 miles and you'll get either Vegas, or Lake Havasu.
Two distinct, desert places where there's actually shit to do.
In 10 years, I'm hoping this place turns into a ghost-town.

No, essentially people moving up here will notice that all there is to do up here is go to a shopping center and that's it.
They'll find a means to move back down, tell everyone else it sucks, then the population will drop that way.
Then the Army or Air Force, Hell, maybe even the Navy will buy the abandoned tract/strip-mall developments and turn them into combat-sims.

tarsis - if you're sick its better to recover faster then prolonge being sick
anyway just spoke to brandon and there doesnt seem to be that many people at los angelopes. seems like a pretty dope right tho and probably would have gone had i not been so under the weather. ill probably be around later tho as i dont feel super gross, im just really congested. yay anti biotics.

In the meantime, I'm looking at jobs and apartments that are available in the IE.
More specifically, anything next to a Metrolink station so I don't have to cave and buy a car.
Essentially, if I live in Fontana, I could take my bike and stereo, then hop on Metro-train all the way to Union Station.
Get off there and rally the troops in Downtown someplace.
The Amtrak thing looked good for awhile, but then I'd have to get a smaller, 20' wheeled folder to ward off any bitching from the conductor.

I would say so, he's basically been on the train on the two occasions I did take the Southwest Chief.
And in going against RBI's logic, I'm going to continue telling everyone that solo-riding is only good for;
A)Going to work
B)and riding in an area that is completely new to you.

it's more complicated than that tarsis.
ive only seen my dad every other weekend for pretty much my entire life. i dont mind it at all but imagine being him. as a parent that would feel awful. he feels like he doesnt have much time left with me so if i act like i always want to be elsewhere it would hurt his feelings. i'm a rebel with my mom not my dad.
and funanu. you should see the mountain bike i ride while im here. i look ridiculous. one of these days we should ride and get tacos...LIKE WE NEVER DID.

I should continually put that thought through my head.
It's just that after seven straight months of nailing every weekend, It's a combination of no work right now and the withdrawal effect resulting from being the only one riding a bike up here for everyday purposes.
Another thing is the fact that I feel kind of alienated up here now.

that's really cool of you to visit your dad. i don't spend enough time with my mom because she drives me nuts. my dad was deported in 1994 and i got to see him in 2006 when i went to argentina. it kills me that i can't see him when i want to. i think he can come back to the US in 10 years..but he'll be 74 =(
i wanted to be at the ride today but i don't have a stupid freak bike yet. ugh. i need one.

My dad chooses to remain in Kuala Lumpur, apparently he remains heartbroken that my mom left him and can't get over it.
Just strap a troll to your bike and consider it freaked, those warnings about not showing up "freaked" are only put in place to scare y'all.
As for me, I was looking at that "instructables" site and intend to follow through with those plans for the "no-weld" tall-bike.
Along with another stereo-system I plan on building, I'm basically going to ride around on this and bump my music on my way to and from work to be as much of an ass to the cars around me.
