ahhh i remember back when this was brought up in early '09 in the mta meetings, condo canyon requested an EIR. It's a stalling tactic because of their belief that it will cause gnarly congestion. a little car congestion is a bummer, but the fact that buses are moving more people. HOV's need to have prioritization over, generally, SOV's.
If you need more convincing, WILSHIRE WILL BE REPAVED!

Condo Canyon NIMBYs can kiss my ass. Those idiots live in so called "Luxury" apartments, pay a shitload of money, and for what? Only really dumb rich people could possible settle in such a shitty area.
I think I saw Rick Fox crossing the street in that area, he was wearing jogging pants. Therefore, by mathematical deduction, I am basically saying that he can kiss my ass as well.
---------------
Anyways, here's what I wrote:
I wholeheartedly support the Wilshire Bus Rapid Transit Project. Public transit and efficient, sustainable modes of transit should always be prioritized over Single Occupancy Vehicles. I have sat in traffic on the 720 on the Condo Canyon stretch many times, and I ridden my bike through that same area. The Wilshire BRT will be a great improvement for bus riders and cyclists. The bike/bus lane will give cyclists some breathing room in this dangerous stretch of Wilshire.
Please do not allow the egoism and short-sightedness of a few hundred residents negatively impact the 80,000 people that depend on public transit.

Wilshire Blvd sucks ass best to ride down 6th Street...
Now back on topic... Bus Lanes sharing as Bicycle Lanes? I don't know if I want to have a giant bus filled with commuters having to move out of the way for one rider. I mean it seems a little out of the way for one or two commuters in the lane while a bus carrying a full load of them.
Am I missing a point here? Please tell me if I'm just posting with a lack of sleep...

I thought that at first too but the bus lanes downtown are pretty legit to ride on. Even if it doesn't serve cyclists as much as we might want, it's still a plus for public transit. Hit them up.
