Wow, even if the cyclist did a strange move, the judge would say, well, you know there are cyclists around, you could see the cyclists, why don't you reduce your speed?
AWESOME!

Personally I see it as common sense. Why doesn't our government see it this way? This video/example NEEDS to be shoved down the throats of many in our judicial system. Where do we start?

Cars are by far the biggest killer of teens in this country. A bigger killer than most other causes of death combined.
Imagine if: drugs, guns, gangs, football,, skateboarding, or bicycling, was killing young people at anywhere near the rate that cars do.
There would be an all out war.
It's a shame that so many people treat the dangerous privilege of driving a car as a deadly right.
It is going to be at least a generation before we can move our culture toward "strict liability".

Interesting concept! You might see something like this in '12.
That's 2112!

Probably a good explanation for all those RN and MD burnouts, after dealing with the same type of injury cause for too many years, why bother anymore?
Retire to a small town and check the kiddies for mumps.

It is going to be until our government stops taking bribes [lobbyist cash money]* before we can move our culture toward "strict liability".
Fixed.
It's going to take more than a generation, I bet dollars to donuts.
Though dollars ain't worth what they used to be...

Yeah that's Copenhagen. America hasn't been the forward thinkers of the world since the television was invented. Then again that's just my opinion...

hurrah.
when I ride a bicycle or motorcycle I'm always on the hyper defensive... as if any car driver is about to aim right for me. I do this out of self preservation.
I agree with the policy in netherlands (as well as their style of bicycles, omas and opas) that there won't be any change in car driver's bicycle awareness until they recognize the danger (financial and criminal) in striking a cyclist.
