still kicking it, i am building a new space age race bike to kick RBI's ass even if he has a new bottom bracket, hes got no chance. We might have to move the drag races to the salt flats.
ha ha next month i will be ready to race again.

I think Lardito should be informed about the fact that people are still down to do the races. Does anyone else know how to contact him besides this forum?
I want to see Yetiman and RBI go at it a few more times before these races become done.

I want to keep the ride. The course is bad ass, but hey ,if no one shows what can I do about it.
The course can hold a longer race, just you guys have to let me know.

The question was to get peoples that are afraid of the races(for lack of experience, or speed) to come out so the event does not get canceled... obviously you have a handicap that does not allow you to see beyond your own ego...

what happens at the noho sprints:
9:15 i see a few riders.
9:30 we wait for larry
9:45 we wait telling ourselves people will show up at 10
10:10 we hand out with whoever was there because nobody shows up.
10:35 we start telling each other aite its time to go home.
10:45 everone goes home.

You don't get good worring about losing. Have fun first and then come back stronger.
RBI and Yettiman are Team Riders and it would take a trained racer to keep up.
Race I junes . Everybody beats him anyway.
we can do a handicap race so good riders start back a bit.....No worrys

ive actually wanted to roll to this event but its on a mosey wednesday night.. Ill sacrafice a mosey to see some good clean races if they still happen next month..

the mosey is welcome. ktown forge and gorge has been up before.
the races are always posted for 9pm but we never actually start racing until 10 or so.

I think people need to be careful about callin Larry an Old Man.
He could give everyone a good run for their money and might just go home with your bike if you decide to race him !

larry told me a story once about the first or second time he held the noho sprints. some guy (i forget his name) won like, $100+ from beating everyone, but then told larry to keep it. so when he shows up with an ice chest of beer - that guy paid for it.

I can tune up the story.
The guy was Bearclaw from the valley, showed up and everyone thought they could beat him
Long story short my fix gear bike couldn't keep up on the super long drag strip against his 10k carbon road bike and he took all our money and threw down " some " cash to larry for beer for the next time and then never showed up again......
The good old days of the super super long drag strip. I think it was about 3 or 4 times what we run now.

i came by with a bunch of folks from the bikery meeting and no one was there.
we proceeded to wait and drink.

the whole stretch is 700 meters, we can do a 600 meter sprint like they do on the tracks, drafting is completely legal i mean ts a race, use some strategy.

DRAFTING WILL ENCOURAGE CAT AN MOUSE TACTICTS
THUS SLOWING DOWN THE PACE OF THE RACES.
OK FOR A BANKED VELODROME TRACK,
LAME FOR NOHO SPRINTS.
RULE # 1 SHOULD BE: YOUR DISQUALIFIED IF YOU DRAFT OR
GO INTO THE OTHER RIDERS LANE.
STRONGEST RIDER WINS BY SPEED, NOT WHEEL SUCKING.
500 METERS IS THE STANDARD DISTANCE FOR MATCHED SPRINTS
AT THE VELODROME.

Plus to add to that, last time we allowed DRAFTING it looked like someone was going to crash every race. The racing was all over the place because most people don't understand how to draft proper and the little path is just to narrow for if something goes wrong.

Yeah. Drafting isn't really necessary for such a sprint like this.But hopefully people show up next time for this great race.
