Stop 1: Bubeshko Apts. (Schindler) 1938

A dramatic setback of each level allows the building to hug the hillside and continue internal spaces out to the patios.
Stop 2: Orans House (Ain) 1941

The living room is covered by a gently sloping shed roof that floats above bands of glass.
Stop 3: Tierman House (Ain) 1939

Two levels, pivots around a central core lighted by skylight
Stop 5: Alexander House (Harris) 1941

Stop 6: Olive House (Schindler) 1933

International style flat roof in the front, shed and gable roofs on the garden side. The ceilings inside are therefore crazy. The living room has one of Schindler’s most beautiful built-in furniture setups.
Stop 7: Silvertop (Lautner) 1957

Cantilevered driveway and swimming pool, exotic design.
Stop 8: Wilson House (Schindler) 1939
2090 Redcliff St.
The cantilevered three floors of receding and projecting boxes out to the rear, and then connected them with projecting balconies at the sides.
Stop 9: Walker House (Schindler) 1936
2100 Kenilworth Ave.
Stop 10: Droste House (Schindler) 1940
2025 Kenliworth Ave.
As this house was being finished, Schindler asked the owners to sit where their dining table would be on the second floor so he could adjust the lintel on the window so that the owners wouldn’t miss anything in the view.
Stop 10: Hansen House (Harris) 1951
2305 W. Silver Lake Blvd.
Harris was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. This house is only interesting because it stands out on the street.
Stop 11: VDL Research House (Neutra) 1964
2300 E. Silver Lake Blvd.
The original pure international style research house built in 1933 was mostly burned in 1963. This house isn’t as experimental, but still represents Neutra’s late romantic period. The house steps away from the blvd. and with each step there is a rooftop pond.

Danny, cabhauler, mixtemotions, Rollers, Dorothy, and others, just before Marcus left town, he was talking about doing a Frank Lloyd Wright #2 tour but ran out of time. IIt's up to us to do a sequel. Brian was there yesterday and maybe we can catch some of the others who rode on the original FLW tour. Kudos to Agent Orange for coming up with the idea originally and if he could join us, it would be icing on the cake.
Let's do it, maybe we can set up a google group and come up with a list of architects and their works and turn it into a coherent ride. This city has a lot of architectural significance but unfortunately for me but good for strange like Danny, a lot of it is up in hillls so there could be a lot of climbing.
I've noticed there are a lot of people on this list who have backgrounds in art, whether it's painting, graphic design, photograhy and architecture. Los Angeles has matured and is no longer the cultural wasteland as many in the past had thought and maybe it's time to take advantage of that.
