I just about got creamed leaving work today. Late at night the signal cycle is so short at Olive and Alameda in Burbank and the intersection is so long traveling on Olive that I didn't make it across the intersection before it was green for one car hauling ass down Alameda. I started when the light turned green for me and in an instant it was yellow than red. FUCK FUCK FUCK that was scary.

Thanks folks. Unfortunately I work right at that intersection and normally I leave in a different direction. But I was burnt out after a long day at work, wanted to go directly home, and forgot that the signal doesn't give enough time to make it through the intersection if you hesitate when it goes green. It's split into two for pedestrians and during the day it's long, but at night after 10pm it just cycles fast bam bam bam bam.

Glad you're okay... that light
is pretty quick. The funky intersection at where Olive and Verdugo cross is really fast too (and the whole intersection is a confusing and fucked up death trap to begin with). Perhaps this is something that can be brought up with the city? I know there's a button for cyclist crossing somewhere on Keystone. They should really implement more of those... (they're just pedestrian crosswalk buttons but in the reach of cyclists.)

Yeah, I'm going to write to the city. At least at Olive and Verdugo you can see cross traffic. With the traffic islands in the middle of Alameda and Olive you can't see the cars on Alameda if you're passing through on Olive.
Oh, and those cross walk buttons on Keystone are for equestrians.
