I like how metro advertises free rides for anyone with a bike or bike helmet but neglects to inform the drivers! I wonder how many people got on the bus and payed because no one told them it was free today.

Yeah, I got into an argument with a Metro bus driver a couple of years ago on BTW day when she adamantly denied that bike riders were supposed to ride free that day. I told her to call her dispatcher and she did! She got real quiet after hearing back from him.
Anyway, there are a lot of things Metro doesn't tell their drivers...like, for example, what to do when a passenger tries to use a "cash purse" TAP card on a bus with express zones.

I got on a bus a couple of months ago and the bus driver started asking the passengers for the route. I guess it was her first time on that bus line and they gave her the wrong route slip. I was real tempted to direct her right to my door step!

i got a flat on my way in to work today and fortunately there was a Big Blue Bus a few blocks behind me. so i hopped on the bus and i was about to pay (i had no idea it's BTW day) but the driver said, "bike riders don't have to pay today... just for today though!"
true story!
