my bike was stolen today around 2-4pm near the chinatown/ downtown LA area. if someone sees it please let me know or lock it up :)
its a black frame fixie with various stickers. both rims are origin8 track attack lime green color, they have ninja turtles sitting on the hubs. its a very recognizable bike please keep an eye out for it. it also has green origin8 pedals and green chain.

Good luck finding it. It's a pretty recognizable bike so there shouldn't be too much trouble spotting it.
Also, is it just me or have thefts gone down? Maybe people just aren't posting about it anymore, lest they come on here and get ridiculed/talked shit upon/etc?

Could be a winter thing, not as many people out on bikes, so less bikes out to steal. It would be really awesome if thefts were just not happening any more. /obvious, but...

the question is WTH were you doing in DT at 4am? Thats a dangerous place man, you gotta be careful. And as far as its an easy bike to spot, yeah it is. But i bet these A-hole thieves have a chop shop so all parts are stripped and sold seperatley. Good luck though

Anyway, this isn't the first time I've heard of this happening. Was this a city rack (inverted "U" shape on the public sidewalk)? I think we have a big, big problem here: LA city bike racks may be literally useless, every one of them. It's also an expensive problem, and this isn't a good time to be having expensive problems where city government is concerned.

Whoa! They cut the rail and took the bike with tire u-locked to the bike frame?? What other way are you supposed to lock up your bike? That was my last line of defense other than NEVER leaving my bike anywhere. I also look out for cameras now too and try and park around them.
Was your bike in view of any security cameras? I know this may not get your bike back but it could help build a case against the thieves when and if the time comes. They may have had a car or truck -- which would show a license plate, etc. If there were cameras you should ask the building to pull the footage asap because they dump footage after a week.
What was the address? Or cross streets?

they should make them stash-able. so we can put them inside the bike, like in the bottom bracket or in the handle bars.
