Free Bikes at the Oven Today

Jump on the Goldline and get off at Heritage Square station. Walk a couple of blocks to the Oven and grab a crappy department store mountain bike for FREE. All I ask is that you spend some time, help us out stripping the really crappy ones for parts. If you can't get your free bike rideable, you can just wheel it back to the Gold Line and take it back from whence you came.
Let me know you are a Rida when you get here.
Bike Oven is at 3706 North Figueroa, 323-223-8020. Take Gold Line to Heritage Sq, Marmion Way parallels the trax, walk north to Ave 37 then to Fig. Right turn on Fig a few feet to 3706. I should be there about noon.

We gave away about a dozen bikes Saturday between noon and 2:00pm. About every two months or so our donated bikes fill up the shop to the point where we can't walk around because of the clutter of bikes.
So we have a give-away to clear the floor, leaving only the road bikes and better mountain bikes that we sell for $50-100. Road bikes will go for $100-200.
Some of the give-aways make good city bikes; rigid frames, alloy wheels, low or flat handlebars. We used to do city bike conversions, sometimes road bike conversions when we had the time and labor resources. Now we concentrate on road bikes.
I will post again when our inventory reaches the point where we have to have another give-away.
