Hit-and-run Sunday June 12th in Beverly Hills.
A dear friend of mine was hit on his bicycle Sunday night, he is in the ICU at Cedars-Sinai with a crushed pelvis and a fractured spine. I just found out this was a hit-and-run, which took place in Beverly Hills. Apparently the Beverly Hills police department didn't seam too worried about this situation. They said "we know who he (the driver) is and he's insured"... I'm wondering if they are going to arrest this person and/or charge them with any crime (being a Beverly Hills issue)? Sounds similar, maybe, to the Mandeville Canyon Bicyclist, where the police hesitated to charge Dr. Christopher Thompson because of his status. My friend who was hit is not doing so well... I can't stand hearing about hit-and-run accidents. These people need to be held accountable for their actions. How could you not stop after hitting someone? Please Help! Thank you.

This is another example we can use against the LAPD for dropping the ball on hit and runs. There is a lot of support here for your friend. Please keep us informed on progress of this, if you can. (You don't have to get into the specifics for the protection of your friend's case.)

This rider should get in touch with Better Bike Beverly Hills so that we can make sure that his experience remains in front of policymakers here. There is no excuse for the conditions that riders must endure in BH. www.betterbikebeverlyhills.org.

FYI--I don't see a "contact us" link or any contact info on the BBBH website you reference. That might be handy if you're looking for folks to reach out to you.
