got this message just now... can anyone help?
Dear Midnight Ridazz,
A sixth grade girl who was a student at Tincher School in Long Beach was killed while riding her bike. Please consider erecting a "ghost bike".
The location is the 600 block of Arbutus in Compton.
There is a memorial on May 9th at 7pm for Kailyn "Shantrel" Williams at this location.
Thank you.

Thanks to a group of dedicated Ridazz, this is being taken care of. We should have a bike to install before the memorial on Monday night.

Does the family want news coverage? I don;t want to start calling around if that would make the family or anyone unhappy.
I feel like too many ghost bikes have been put up lately, and even if I am misguided, I want to bring attention to what is happening in the streets.
I was a victim too, like many others here, and I just want to see the hit and runs end.

do you have a bicycle? I have a small kids bicycle that is not being used due to its condition but if dust it off and spray paint it white it should look good to go.... let me know.... I can also email you pictures of the bicycles ....

Day1, things for the offer, but MaxxiD has already dropped off a girl's bike and I am painting it right now.
There will be a memorial at the collision site in Compton Monday night.
I think it would be really cool for the girl's family if a bunch of us showed up on bikes.
Painting this girls bike is drawing tears. A horrible and totally avoidable tragedy which will haunt Kailyn Williams' family for the rest of their lives.

on a side note, Les and other ridazz have been working on ghost bikes in our community for quite some time. I am currently working on a short film about it and will share it with our community soon.
