This won't be at City Hall - it will be at VAN NUYS City Hall. Just found out that Council moved the meeting.
It's ok though - cause we'll still meet at the Red Line station at Santa Monica & Vermont, and then we'll take the train to the Valley - Barchopz/Robotz/Taco Tuesdays/Cub Camp style.
cause the council members dont want to be inconvenienced by the may day workers rights marches or be inundated with comments regarding workers rights I assume.
Just got off the phone with Stephen Box- they move it around every now and then to prove they haven't forgotten that L.A. exists outside of dowtown.
Apparently they hold it in San Pedro a few times a year, even. Tang's -> San Pedro, Wolfpack Storms the Bastille?
Anyways, we'll take the Red Line to North Hollywood, then take Chandler west to Van Nuys City Hall. I'll be on Van Nuys, directing people to city hall (the building's hard to find).

Westsiders- The 761 is a good route that isn't anywhere near as far out of the way (in fact, it drops you off right at Van Nuys Civic Center).
If you want to drive over the hill, I'll offer my driveway for parking space(8 cars max), but bring your bikes, since I'm 3 miles away.

1) Hummer vs. Cyclists Incident. We expect the LAPD to support the rights of cyclists.
2) Aggressive policing of cyclists. We fully expect the LAPD to support cycling, not crush it.
3) City Leadership. "What's it going to take for the largest City in the most populated State in the most powerful Country in the world to step up and make public safety on our streets a priority?"
I suggest that in the session that we speakers refer to the recent Maywood brutalities as an example. Also, disclose as many other specific examples of recent and related bad police behavior you can.

An example of what? Maywood is a different city. If you want to get it through the Council's thick skull that something needs to be done about the LAPD, you'll probably want to mention incidents that involve the LAPD. (It, um, probably wouldn't hurt to mention in passing that it's the second anniversary of the MacArthur Park police riot)

Also, that last bit is actually a bit confusing. Apparently people have ended up at the library, post office, fire station, [insert other civic building here] trying to find city hall.
