Update: Rider hit Friday Night

Chris, the guy who was hit by a car after LACM and The People's ride, posted his story to the LACM thread on another forum.

"I was in the left hand lane riding with Sarah and Eddy, and I was told (after I woke up) that the car was behind us in the right lane. Car goes to pass in the left lane, clips my rear wheel. I woke up in a pool of my own blood in the streets of LA not knowing what the hell happened, where I was, or why I was in the street. I never even saw the car coming. I had NO LESS than 17 blinking LEDs on the back of my bike, a shiny silver bike, and a bright blue backpack on my back. It was impossible to no see me.

If anyone knows who called/helped get me the ambulance, let me know, I want to thank you personally. I was told that Eddy was very helpful. Lets get a beer, man.
I want to thank Sarah, also. She took my precious bicycle back to her house and is keeping it safe until I can pick it up. Thank you. I really want to show some appreciation for all the people that helped me out.

I end up with a pretty good concussion, a 2 inch cut in my head that had to be sealed with 5 staples, road rash all over the place, head, face, hands, shoulder, arms, leg... Spent 12 hours in the LA county hopital, got 4 X-rays, and a CT scan.

If anyone knows anything, please hit me up and tell me. I don't even know what kind of car hit me, or what streets I was at when it happened.

Be careful out there. I know some of the hipsters will hate to hear this, but wear a helemt. Riding a bike isn't about who looks the coolest, or fashion."

 I already wear a helmet, but I need to get myself another, damned mirror for my glasses.

Too bad the one I want is only sold by REI.

Everytime I'm free to go there, something always has to come up!!!

Anywho, enough of my rant, how is it that some dumbshit could miss 17 blinkies and a silver frame?!?!?!?
Either on their cell-phone, changing the station, and then, "I didn't see them officer, I swear!!!"

yeah, Chris' accident just reinforced my decision to always wear my helmet. It's too dangerous out there and I'm investing too much money in my brain to have it splattered all over the asphalt.

i haven't read the other threads but was it a hit and run? any info on the car that hit him?
