You're feeling something, and reached out. You'll be all right. Regardless of whether the citations were justified, being pulled over by law enforcement typically isn't a fun experience. You were riding your bike, feeling the wind, and living. That's more than many do in a lifetime.
There is a thread dealing with ticket strategy for citations which if inappropriately issued that might be helpful. If you search within the Bicycle Forum, by selecting Search Threads By Body: using the phrase "Ticket from LAPD"
Stay Positive and Ride On.

Sorry that this happened bro, I hope this shit gets settled right. Remember the
Government is not suppose to limit our freedom but help us protect it & enjoy it.
Furthermore, the police officer should have been doing something a little more productive. In regards to how tax $ is being used.
Incredibly stupid to tax those who are trying to save $$ on stupid expensive(perishable) gas && helping protective our ozone layer..

A little advice dealing with court... Remember that to win the case against you, the ticketing officer has to show up in court, AND they have to prove it was you "beyond a reasonable doubt"
1. I was given this tip by a police officer years ago, who explained that law enforcement rarely if ever will show up in court on their day off. Find out what days of the week the officer is normally off duty. If you're lucky, you can just ask the receptionist what his schedule is when you call the station, but the worst case scenario is to call his station 7 days in a row asking for him by name. Once you know what days of the week he is off, you want to have your court date re-scheduled to one of those days.
2. Do your research. Is it even illegal to have your hands off the handlebars?
3. On your court date, if the officer does not show, then the case should be dismissed. If this doesn't happen automatically, you can say that you want to enter a motion that the case be dismissed based on failure to appear on the officer's part. If the officer shows, you will have the chance to be presented with their evidence BEFORE you "take the stand" on your own behalf. For all you know they might not even have video of you running the stop sign, and you can plead insufficient evidence based on the fact that there were many other cyclists in the area (if there were).
4. Most importantly, remember that you can try your case by putting the officer on the witness stand and asking him questions (like "do you have any evidence that proves that I ran a stop sign), and when they put YOU on the stand, you want to plead the 5th on EVERYTHING. To each question say "I plead the fifth amendment on the grounds that it may incriminate me".
I went to court for a red light photo ticket a few years ago, and they had a police officer there whose job it was to act as the "ticketing officer"... I didn't have the ability to get the date scheduled on his day off...lol. I honestly only went to court because I couldn't afford to pay the ticket and wanted to do anything I could to get out of it.
When I saw their evidence, the picture of my face was a bit grainy. The only witness I called to the stand was the officer, and I asked him one question. "Does the person in the picture appear to be me beyond a reasonable doubt?" to which he responded "I can't be 100% sure". They then put me on the stand and drilled me with questions, "Is that you driving the car?" "If it's not you, then who is it?" "How often do you loan your car to other people?", etc. The judge was pissed and did everything he could to intimidate me. I just plead the 5th amendment to every question (about 10 times), and he was forced to throw the case out based on insufficient evidence.
Most importantly, speaking of the 'tude... THAT will destroy you in court. You have to put a lid on it and be a pro when you're in THEIR house.
Of course, there are some who would say "if you do the crime do the time" but sometimes we just have to fight whether we're right or not.

How about keeping your hands on the handlebars, especially when approaching intersections? I see a lot of kids riding with no hands at the most inappropriate times. Your not that cool, you don't ride that well, and your balance isn't that good. Also, don't sass the police, call your mother, and eat your vegetables.

I got a ticket for running a red. I don't run reds anymore. Tickets are very persuasive that way... and I didn't pay it, nor ever plan to. Yet I don't run reds anymore. I guess they do work.
