CARPOOLS? - LA Marathon Crash Race II
Thread started by

I noticed that nobody had put up a post to connect with others and carpool back to pickup their four-wheeled rides (I know, WHY?).
In my case, I think I'm only good for the first 26 miles on my unicycle... lol
If you have an empty seat and can transport another person's ride (one or two-wheeled) post it up here
Starting with me...
RIDE NEEDED: if anybody has an empty seat in their car (and spot on their rack) and headed back to Tangs or therabouts, hit me up dancesonh2o att gee-mail dott commm or three 1 zero three 5 one 6 one zero 0

Allright guys and gals... hearing nothing but crickets here, but I can't carpool with crickets cuz they can't drive.
Anyhow... any interested parties?

I was saying the something similar on the S.C.U.M.B.A.G. thread.

this is why the organizers canceled the bike tour when they changed the route from a DTLA loop to a beach route. better check the metro bus 720 line schedule for sunday. you're lucky because they'll likely let you bring the unicycle on the bus.

Already checked the bus schedules, but they are modified to accomodate the event. The best one is the 4 I think...
Line 4
Downtown LA – Santa Monica via Santa Monica Bl
Detour via Olympic Bl between the City of Santa Monica and La Cienega Bl. Eastbound trips terminate at Metro Red Line Vermont/Santa Monica Station.
And the 720 says...
Line 720
Wilshire Metro Rapid
Detour via Olympic Bl between the City of Santa Monica and La Cienega Bl.
Which one of the above takes me closest to Tangs?

Dude just ride it back, it's only 15 miles. Plus Unigeezer can do it....what kind of unicyclist are you?

Uniwhoozer? lol, kidding. Terry's a good guy. I've never thought he's a much of a geezer though. Couldn't get him to come out for the marathon due to time of night.
Same kind of unicyclist, just a little younger. :)
At this point, I'm more likely to park at Tangs and take my chances. Will ride the coast home (about 12mi) and pick up car later well after marathon (probably best idea).

Better yet... we'll trade rides at the finish and YOU do a 15-mile rain wheelie!

The marathon is nothing, you should have seen him last Sunday.

Just be careful of the posted restriction signs, I hear there were quite a few towings last year.

Good point, Make sure you don't park on the route and look out for no parking signs. Last year I parked on the other side of the marathon from where I lived and it was a bitch to get to the other side. Plan on it being on your bike for the first half of day, there is no way you can ride this and do anything the same morning that isn't near the marathon.

Hahah Avi... thanks for the props.
Those of you who saw me at the Marathon today likely saw the hangover from last Sunday's Reseda-to-the-Sea... The intense shiner under my right eye... thanks to a dirt facial that I took only one mile in... lol. I can pretty much count on one UPD (unplanned dismount) per ride.
Today's UPD was when climbing 1st street near the Disney Hall... ribs are feeling it tonight.
Enjoying mixing it up with you guys. If it weren't for the rain, I would have had more chances to see you all at the LA Marathon Crash... I managed to talk two other uni-guys from OC into coming, and we all rolled in to SM about 6:50am and most every two-wheeler was already having coffee in various shops around Santa Monica by that time.
Good times...
